Terms of Service
Last updated: October 16, 2026
The short version
- WikiHunt is a hunting map for your iPhone and for the web at wikihunt.app/app. Many features are free; Hunter Pro is a paid subscription.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel any time, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
- Map data (property lines, public land, hunting units, season dates) comes from government and county sources and can be wrong or out of date. It is a planning aid, not a legal survey or a substitute for the regulations. Always check before you hunt.
- Your waypoints, tracks and photos are yours.
1. Who we are
WikiHunt is made by Tall Poppy Studio ("we", "us"). You can reach us at akos@tallpoppystudio.com. By using the app or the website you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
2. Your account
You can use much of WikiHunt without an account. Syncing, the web map and some features need one (Sign in with Apple, Google, or email). Keep your sign-in secure; you're responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account and its data at any time from the app's settings or by emailing us.
3. Hunter Pro subscriptions
Where you buy
- In the iPhone app: the purchase is made through Apple, under Apple's Media Services Terms. Billing, free trials, cancellation and refunds for these purchases are handled by Apple.
- On the website: the purchase is made through Stripe, which acts as the seller of record and collects payment and any sales tax or VAT. The rest of this section covers website purchases.
A plan bought in either place works in both, as long as the app and the website are signed in to the same account.
Plans and price
Plans are offered monthly or yearly, either for all supported states or for one state. The price, billing period and any tax are shown before you pay. We may change prices for future periods; if the price of your plan changes, we'll tell you by email before the change applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
Automatic renewal
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) and the card on file is charged the then-current price, until you cancel. Website plans do not include a free trial. For yearly plans, a reminder email is sent before each renewal. Charges appear on your statement as LINK.COM* WIKIHUNT.APP: Stripe sells website plans through Link.
Cancelling
Cancel a website plan at any time: on wikihunt.app/app open the account menu and choose Manage subscription, then Cancel. You can also cancel at link.com, where Stripe lists your Link purchases, or email us and we'll cancel it for you. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Hunter Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for. To cancel an App Store subscription, use your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Refunds
If you're not happy with a website plan, email us within 14 days of the first payment (or of a yearly renewal) and we'll refund that payment in full. Outside that window, payments are not refunded for partly used periods, except where the law requires otherwise. App Store purchases are refunded by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it for a short time and you keep access meanwhile. If it still fails, the subscription ends and the account returns to the free plan; nothing you saved is deleted.
4. Your content
Waypoints, tracks, areas, hunts, harvest entries and photos you create or import stay yours. You give us permission to store, process and sync them only to run the service for you, and to show them to people you choose to share them with (for example a hunt group). You can export them as GPX or KML at any time, on every plan.
5. Map data and safety
- Property lines, ownership, public land, hunting units, survey grids, season dates and forecasts come from third-party and government sources. They can be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date, and coverage varies by state.
- They are not a legal survey and do not grant permission to enter any land. You are responsible for knowing where you are, getting permission for private land, and following the hunting laws and regulations that apply to you.
- The Hunt Forecast is an estimate from weather and moon data, not a guarantee of animal movement.
- Safety check-in and group location sharing depend on your phone, battery and signal. They are not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
6. Acceptable use
Don't misuse WikiHunt: no scraping or bulk downloading of map or parcel data, no reselling it, no attempts to break or overload the service, no using it to harass anyone, and no use that breaks the law. We may suspend accounts that do.
7. Changes and availability
We keep improving WikiHunt and may add, change or remove features or data sources. We'll try to give notice before removing something important to a paid plan. The service may sometimes be unavailable, for example when a government map server is down. We may update these terms; if a change materially affects paid plans, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it applies.
8. Disclaimer and liability
WikiHunt is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about accuracy, availability or fitness for a particular purpose, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything that results from relying on map data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.
9. Ending
You can stop using WikiHunt and delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms; if we end a paid plan without cause, we'll refund the unused part.
